Camperdown Childcare Centre

We wish to inform our community that our service will be closing at the end of this year.

We’re incredibly proud of the inclusive environment we’ve created and the strong relationships we’ve built over the past thirty-five years.

We remain committed to delivering high quality education and care through to our final day on 18th December, 2025 and encourage new families to enroll for the remainder of the year.

Thank you to our wonderful community for your support. It has meant so much to us.

Please contact our Director with any questions or to arrange a tour. We currently have spots available in all rooms.

How we operate

Children are grouped according to age, needs and anticipated school entry year.

Guwing/Suns: 0-2 years (15 children to 5 educators)

Yanada/Moons: 2-3 Years (15 children to 4 educators)

Birrung/Stars: 3-5 Years (20 children to 3 educators)

We are proud of retaining long term and experienced educators. We have a mix of permanent and regular casual educators who provide relief for programming; breaks and ratios; and staff leave to ensure continuity of care for our children. We have a full time Director, Assistant Director and Educational Leader. Two Cooks and a part time Office Administrator.

Daily routine

Our days begin and end with family grouping, where all children are together to maintain ratio requirements. Each room has a different routine which takes into account the age and developmental stage of the children. All rooms run an indoor-outdoor program in the mornings until lunch time, which allows children to choose where they wish to play and learn. The children are given opportunities throughout the day for small and large group learning experiences. Breakfast, morning tea and afternoon tea are offered progressively. Children and educators come together in their rooms for a shared meal at lunch time.

Philosophy

Diversity is at the heart of our Centre. We celebrate the unique cultures, backgrounds, abilities and experiences of every child, family and educator, ensuring voices are heard and all children have access to full participation. Through inclusive practices, we create a space where everyone can be who they are.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is grounded in play-based learning and emergent group projects. Where children can explore, create and imagine at their own pace, guided by their natural curiosity. Our Centre is a place of joy.

Respect

We honour and care for the Gadigal land on which we learn and play on, teaching children to appreciate and protect the natural world around them. Our commitment to respect, kindness and collaboration builds strong and lasting connections between us all.

Camperdown CCC is where we belong.
