HOW DOES IT OPERATE?
Three Rooms for Different Ages
Children are placed in groups according to age, needs and anticipated school entry date. Our nursery (The Sunnies) has 14 places for babies up to three years old. Two to three year olds are in another room (The Moonies) in a group with 14 to 18 places. The older three, four and five year olds are in a third room (The Stars) with a maximum group of 20 children. This group participates in a full pre-school program acquiring and strengthening the skills and confidence needed for a positive and successful transition to school.
Our teaching staff record observations, set goals with family involvement, keep detailed developmental records, and design, implement and evaluate individual learning programs for each child.
We run a separate winter and summer program for each room. It takes into account the need for indoor and outdoor play, structured group time, sleep or rest time, morning and afternoon snacks and lunch. In the early mornings and late afternoons the children in the two older groups play together.
Children are offered delicious, nutritious meals prepared daily on the premises by our own cook These are guaranteed to appeal to even the fussiest eaters.
Our large outdoor playground has been professionally designed to be an exciting but safe, creative and engaging area for all the children.
Families with children in the nursery only need to provide bottles, formula, comfort items and clothing. For pre-school children in the Moonies or Stars, we ask families to provide sheets and blanket for rest time, spare changes of clothing and if the child is in nappies, disposable nappies.
Your Choice of Days
Attendance at the centre can be five days per week or part-time. Additional care is sometimes available for days other than those you are booked for.
As a non-profit centre our fees are kept as low as possible. Many families are eligible for child care benefit from the Federal Government which reduces the fees paid on a weekly basis. Click here to view the fee schedule in PDF format.
